Cookie Policy
The cookies and tracking technologies used on fixitforyou.org, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to change your choices.
This document was prepared for review by the company's legal counsel and is not yet legally reviewed.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work at all (for example, to remember a choice you made from one page to the next). Others are optional and are used to measure how a site is used or whether an ad led to a visit. Related technologies, such as scripts and SDKs from analytics or advertising providers, work in a similar way and are covered by this policy too.
This Cookie Policy explains what fixitforyou.org (the "Site"), operated by Fix It For You LLC, uses and how you can control it. For everything else about how we handle your information, see our Privacy Policy.
2. Our approach
- Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the Site cannot work safely without them.
- Analytics and advertising cookies are off by default. They load only after you accept them on the cookie banner or on the Privacy Choices page.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a "reject" for advertising and do not load advertising cookies.

Notes:
- Durations for Google cookies are set by Google and may change; the values above reflect Google's published defaults at the time of writing.
- We do not use any other third-party cookies. If we add one, we will update this table and, if it is optional, ask for your consent before loading it.
- Ad attribution parameters in a link (such as
utm_*orgclid) are read from the page address and stored with your request if you submit one. That is not a cookie and does not require the advertising cookies above.
4. How to manage your choices
- On the Site: Visit the Privacy Choices page at any time to accept all optional cookies, reject them, or manage them by category. Your choice is saved in the
ffy_consentcookie for 12 months, after which we will ask again. - In your browser: You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the service request form from working.
- Google opt-outs: Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics and ad-personalization settings in your Google account.
Changing your mind later is fine; withdrawing consent stops future loading of optional cookies but does not remove data already collected while they were active.
5. Global Privacy Control
Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser setting that tells websites you do not want your personal information sold or shared or used for targeted advertising. When we detect a GPC signal, we honor it: advertising cookies are not loaded and we record the signal as an opt-out in your consent record. You can learn how to turn on GPC in supported browsers at globalprivacycontrol.org.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy if the cookies we use change. The effective date and version at the top will change when we do.
