1. Our commitment

Fix It For You LLC wants everyone to be able to use fixitforyou.org, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, magnification, or other assistive technology. Requesting a home repair should not be harder because of a disability.

2. The standard we work toward

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Among other things, this means we work to ensure that:

• Every page and form control can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
• Form fields have visible labels and clear error messages, and errors are announced to assistive technology.
• Text and interactive elements have sufficient color contrast, and information is not conveyed by color alone.
• Images that carry meaning have text alternatives.
• The page structure uses proper headings and landmarks so it can be navigated by assistive technology.
• Content reflows and remains usable when the text is enlarged or the screen is narrow.
• Nothing flashes, moves unexpectedly, or requires precise timing.
• Target sizes for buttons and links are large enough to tap comfortably.

We review new features against these guidelines before release and test with common screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. The Site is a work in progress; we treat accessibility as something we maintain, not something we finish.

3. Known limitations

• Photos you upload with a service request are shown to you as thumbnails; there is no automatic text description of their content.
• Third-party services we link to (for example, a hosted payment page or map) are controlled by other companies, and we cannot guarantee their accessibility.

4. Alternative ways to request service

It helps if you can tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using. We try to respond within five business days.
